Ninth Ward Nursery

Mark and the Ninth Ward Nursery team are absolutely the best. They did an amazing job installing both my bamboo and a watering system. The irrigation setup has kept the bamboo thriving with very little effort on my part. My bamboo is taller than my house now, after only 2 years!! If you're thinking about adding bamboo to your property, I highly recommend Ninth Ward Nursery.

Mark and team were wonderful. Prompt installation, extremely reasonable pricing, and his passion for this comes through in his work. Highly recommend to anyone curious about getting some bamboo or other plants added to their property.

If you want Bamboo, you go to the Ninth Ward Nursery. They installed my bamboo and provided maintenance on it recently after years. They did an incredible job pruning and trimming, and they cleaned up so thoroughly. I'm impressed. Highly recommend.

What do I know about bamboo ??? Nothing. I genuinely thought I would drive to HD or Lowe’s and pick up some bamboo. Little did I know that it’s way more involved. There are over 2200 types of bamboo. Clumping vs. Non / heights that vary wildly/ etc. I was trying to mach golden goddess bamboo but I needed it to grow 20 feet. I’m so glad I found Mark and 9th Ward Nursery. He is the bamboo expert in the Deep South. He is the editor of the official bamboo publication. I arrived Saturday AM and was unsure what I would be getting. After chatting with Mark for 20 minutes … he steered me in the right direction. He loaded my truck and helped me tied the bamboo down. If I was within 200 miles… I would have no reservations driving to see Mark and buy bamboo from him at 9th Ward Nursery Highly recommended!!

After finishing construction of our pool, we were in desperate need of some landscaping in what remained of our yard. After a personal recommendation from a friend and seeing the multitude of great reviews online, we contacted Ninth Ward Nursery with an idea of what we wanted -- some tropicals on one side of the pool, bamboo along the fenceline, and some hardscaping in a few muddy areas. The owner, Mark, came by and took measurements, discussed a few options, then got back to us super fast with a detailed estimate with several options for different tropical plants, then worked with us on finding exactly the right ones from these options for our space, taste, and budget. I was impressed with this, but even more impressed when Mark and Danny came by to do the installation. They were friendly, efficient, and just did great work. Our backyard looks great now and I can't wait for it to warm up so we can come by the nursery to shop for more tropicals for containers on our pool deck!
